We were established in 1996 to make private investments in early-stage and emerging growth companies for which Blue Mesa played an integral role from an operating and strategic perspective. Blue Mesa (and its affiliates) now primarily serve as long-term advisors to growth companies (public and private), and their management teams and Boards of Directors from formation through liquidity.
Our Founder, and Managing Partner, Marc Morgenstern, is a veteran deal maker, advisor, and entrepreneur who has structured, negotiated, and closed hundreds of transactions throughout the United States, as a principal, business advisor, or legal counsel. These include start-ups, venture capital and private equity investments, fund formation, mergers and acquisitions, sales, and initial public offerings.
He is also a co-founder and Managing Partner of Access Ventures, a committed capital fund formed in 2002 to co-invest in private, venture-stage, technology companies. Among the Fund's exits are Synchronoss Technologies (NASDAQ:SNCR) and Be Vocal (sale to Nuance). Access Ventures is no longer making new investments outside of its portfolio companies. Mr. Morgenstern was also a co-founder and Principal in Equity Realty Securities Co., and a General Partner in Equity Investors Co., which developed and bought shopping centers, apartments, hotels, and office buildings.
